With over 110 years of welcoming golfers from all over the world, Killarney Royal Hotel has been officially recognised as a forerunner (pun intended!) in Irish golf tourism and has been awarded the Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association, 2012 Boutique Golf Hotel of the Year. The proprietors, Joe & Margaret Scally, their family and all the members of the team at Killarney Royal are overjoyed to have receive this prestigious honour. The award was presented to Claire Scally at IGTOA awards ceremony by Vice Chairman and Director of Lynchpin Tours, Mr David Hudson, and celebrity presenter, GAA star, Peter Canavan.
Claire Scally accepted the award on behalf of the Scally family and the team at Killarney Royal stating:
"At Killarney Royal our business is personal. My grandmother began welcoming golfers to Killarney Royal in 1961 and my family and our team have specialised in the golf market ever since. Throughout the years we have had the pleasure of welcoming golfers from across the globe. We understand that we have a responsibility to the industry and, in particular, to the agents that choose to accommodate their clients with us. Often Killarney Royal is the first place that golfers experience when they arrive in Killarney, and we ensure that their welcome is warm and genuine. As a boutique hotel, we have the added advantage that we can offer our guests a bespoke service throughout their stay.
We are very honoured to be recognised by the IGTOA members who are the lifeblood of Irish Golf Tourism and we look forward to even more success in the golf market now that we have been officially recognised as the golfer's choice Boutique Golf Hotel of the Year."
