Muckross House and Gardens; One of Ireland's most popular visitor attractions, this magnificent Victorian Mansion should be top of your list of activities while in Killarney and is most definitely a must see. The mansion was built in 1943 in a Tudor Style with a total of 65 rooms. Later in 1850 further extensions were carried out in preparation of Queen Victoria’s arrival.
The house is now a museum for the public to visit, with many of the rooms now restored to their original Victorian splendor. Muckross Gardens boasts spectacular features such as a Rock Garden, a Stream Garden and a Sunken Garden for you to explore.
Muckross Traditional Farms are situated adjacent to Muckross House, portraying the traditional farming methods and way of life of a typical rural community in 1930 and for younger visitors to enjoy, there is a small farm animal petting area.
Killarney Royal Hotel is ideally located just 10 minutes drive from Muckross House and Gardens which are just outside Killarney town.
